Mostafa Rahmandoost |
|
|
He was born in 1950 in Hamadan. He is a poet,
author, teacher and translator of children and
young adults' literature. 120 of his books have
been published on different topics, with a
circulation of 5.5 million copies. Some of his
eight books have been translated into English,
Chinese, Arabic, Urdu, Turkish, Russian, Swahili,
Japanese and Swedish. Since l979 he has been the
editor in chief of a number of children's'
magazines. During the last 3 decades he has put
much effort into deployment of children's'
literature in Iran, and has had an active presence
in most movements in relation to development of
study and consciousness of children of Iran. His
books, "The Spring Guardian, "Garden of kindness"
and "Prettier than spring"; have been chosen as
the best book of the year. He has been a member of
poetry and music council of NIRT for 11 years. As
a member of jury he has participated five periods
in Book of the Year and four periods in
International Festival of Films for Children and
Young Adults, Isfahan; as well as children's'
books, films and publications.
In l977, he started "Doostaneh" the first site for
children and in the same year became Kanoon's
First Iranian Storytelling Festival director. His
following books have been made in animation:
"Silver Sequin", The Spring Guardian", "Three
Paces Behind Mother" and" The Lion Hunter Donkey".
He is currently working on slang Iranian
literature. "Once Upon a Time", a 50 part puppet
series, and "Play with Fingers" a 52 part
animation series based on his books are being
produced by NIRT and Saba Cultural and Art
Company. |

Mohammad Reza Sharifi |
|
|
He was born in l951. He is a graduate of cinema,
television and radio from the School of Dramatic
Arts and Literature and human science from Tehran
University. His activities in the field of art had
been teaching of photography, filmmaking and
cinematography in reputable university centers
such as, School of Fine Arts, Tehran University,
University of Art (School of Cinema and Theater),
Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance (Islamic
Center for Training of Filmmaking), Soreh
Educational Institute, Isfahan and IRIB Film
School. He had participated as director,
cinematographer, editor and writer of narration in
the production of over 90 short and semi long
films.
His cooperation as a cinematographer had been in
over 15 feature films; namely, "The Night Nurse",
All the Earth's Temptations", "Inheritance, "on
The Alter of Love", "Attorney General, "Friend in
the House", "Journey of the Grey men" and "The
Earth's Dream. As a scriptwriter, he had
participated in "The Third", "Heavenly Earth",
"Tehran September 1941 and 'Redness of Athens
Flowers". Amongst his other activities were:
- Member of Evaluation Council of Cinema Artists
- Member of Central Council of Society of Iranian
Cinematographers
- Member of jury in Iranian and international
festivals
- Editor of educational programs, compilation of
various educational books in relation to cinema,
television and photography
At the time when this catalogue was being
published, Sharifi was deceased and depriving the
artistic community of his beloved self. We honor
his blessed memory. |

Parwin Tajvid |
|
|
She was born in Mashhad in 1961. She studied
animation direction in IRIB Film School. She
started her career in IIDCYA (Kanoon) as a teacher
of painting in 1982 and after finishing in 1993,
joined the "Cinematic Affairs" department of the
Kanoon.
Filmography: The Lonely Ringdove, The Veil of
Illusion, The Stories of Aunt Ra'na and Aunt
Nessa, The Story of the little Piece of Cheese,
The Most Beautiful Song, Adventures of Atlasi
(series), The Child (series), as well as a number
of short interludes and teasers and opening logos
including the logo of the Second Tehran
International Animation Festival, and book and
press exhibitions of children. She has been
working with Saba Cultural and Art Company since
1995. |

Behzad Ferahat |
|
|
He was born in 1968 in Tehran. He was a student of
medicine for five years which he gave up to study
and experience art in open classes of art
universities in Iran and England. Some of his
activities in the field of animation are as
follows:

- "Samaneh and Samaneh in Plaster", IRIB
- "I Myself found it", Kanoon
- "Returning Home", Kanoon
He is presently working on the pre-production of
"Orange Ant Eater series (England). |

Jamaledin Peerkhadri |
|
|
He was born in 1965 in Kermanshah. He studied
cinema (BA degree) in University of Art (School of
Dramatic Arts) in l992 and then animation (MA
degree) in University of Art (School of Cinema and
Theater) in 2001. He is a teacher of painting. He
has been in film and computer games production as
animator in Farasoopand Company for one year. His
cooperation with Saba Cultural and Art Company as
animator was between l996 and l999. He has also
participated in the following projects:
- The Fox and Crow" as director, animator and
producer for channel 2 of IRIB, (2000) 520".
- Oldooz" as animator and editor (2001) 484".
- "The Waiting" as animator and editor (2001),

- "The Man and Heart" as animator and editor

Fatemeh Goudarzi |
|
|
She was born in l974, Tehran. She studied painting
in Azad Islamic University. She has been
cooperating with Kanoon as an animator since l996
and has participated as designer, graphic
designer, animator and executive collaborator in a
number of projects.
Some of her collaborations in the field of
animation with Kanoon have been:

- "The Longest Journey of the World" director

Bijan Mirbagheri |
|
|
He
was born in l968. He is a high school graduate in
sculpture, and cinematography (BA degree) from
University of Art; and a teacher of painting in
Kanoon. Some of his activities in the field of
animation are:
- " Noghli and Snow Crystals" as animator
- "Playmate" as assistant puppet maker
As a filmmaker he has directed the following
animations:
- " The Sun Rises Again", 35mm, l988
- " Flower", 16mm, 1988
- "The Man and Shadow", 16mm, l988
- "Blue Boy", video series, 1999
- "Mahsa", 35mm, 2002. This film has been awarded
the best animation in Iranian competition of
International Festival of Films for Children and
Young Adults Isfahan 2003, and the best short film
in the international competition of the same
festival.
The following are some of his short film projects:
- "Two Sisters", 35mm, 1999, for which he has won
the following awards: best short film from view
point of Iranian Cinema Production Syndicate,
2002, the best script and direction from The Holy
Defense Festival, 2001, Unica silver medal,
Holland, 2000, Ebensi golden emblem, Austria,
2000, Bilbao Festival grand prize and the best
fiction film, Spain 2000, and Lichtenstein Short
Film Festival, grand prize 2000.
"Bird" video, 2000", Grandfathers Don't Know
Modern Poetry", video, 2000, The Unwritten Letter,
35mm, 2001 which has had presence in Cannes
Festival France, junior section, 2002, and has won
the gold medal in Houston Festival 2002.
Black-out, 35mm, 2003, has appeared in Drama
Festival Greece, International competition 2004.
He has also directed "we are all good", a feature
film, 35mm, in 2004
As a scriptwriter, Mr. Mirbagheri has collaborated
in the following projects: "Towards the Sky",
feature film, 2000, "The Fifth Person", short
film, 2001, "Sunshine", short animation, 2001,
"Apple", short animation, 2001, "Tin Star", short
animation, 2002, "Made In Japan", feature film,
2002, "Inferno, Limbo, Heaven", feature film,
2002, "To Own", feature film, a group work, 2002,
"Third Floor", feature film, 2004, "The Rainy
Night, short film, a group work, 2004 and "what is
God", short film 2004.
Amongst his other activities are the making of
over 100 commercial teasers, teaser for the 22nd
Fajr Festival and a number of documentaries. He
has also illustrated "Jirak and Jourak (children's
book) in four volumes.
