Digital Technology
In the recent years, digital technology has had an extraordinary growth in the
area of art, industry, audio and video, which has opened a new horizon for the
artists either in photography by using digital printing or in cinema by using
digital recording, editing and multimedia systems.
Today more than 25% of market productions in the field of photography and cinema
are related to digital techniques; which would be very supportive for our
cultural and scientific programmers to explore the existing possibilities and
study the movement course of this technology.
French National Center of Cinematography (CNC)
The CNC, Centre National de la Cinematographie created in 1946 is a public
administrative organization with legal entity status and financial autonomy. It
operates under the authority of the Ministry of Culture and Communication. Some
of the general goals of this center are as follows:
Financial support mechanisms for the cinema, whether Production, distribution or
exploitation.
Development and financial support of the audiovisual programs
Contribution and financial support in promoting and distributing short films
Encouraging new authors and new forms of creativity in pre- productions
Financial support of cinematographic creativity and exploitations
This center pursues in various cultural goals such as financial support of
French filmmaking companies by purchasing films from other countries to create
an international cultural interchange. Film companies like Les Films du Preau
and Gebeka Films have purchased over ten different feature film titles from
Kanoon that have benefited from CNC's support in public screening. Traveller and
Where is My friend's Home by Abbas Kiarostami, Shangoul and Mangoul by Morteza
Ahadi and Farkhondeh Torabi and Lili Lili Hosak by Vajihollah Fard Moghadam are
amongst some these films.
Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology is a new technology creating MEMS structures in the "Nano" range
which is three orders of magnitude, or 1000 times smaller than the current
generation of MEMS devices. Refers to devices ranging in size from a nanometer
to a micron.
Nasrin Mirshab
Animation has a long lasting international connection in Tran. In the early
stages of it's establishment, Kanoon has been a pioneer in introducing Iran
animation to world audiences and Vise Versa.
Some professionals in this field are amorously leading the way for the
preservation of this cultural dialogue.
Nasrin Mirshab is an example of an Iranian leaving abroad, who has devoted her
cultural career to this field.
As well as having a Masters in human biology from the University of Paris VII,
Nasrin Mirshab has always been interested in painting. She has studied under the
French Impressionist, Gustav Nebel and since 1996 has collaborated with the
cinema and cultural affairs department
of the town of Cannes, especially in the realm of exhibition organization. She
has also been active on the organizing committee of the Cannes Film Club.
At the same time, she has organized various events for Iranian cinema in the
south of France. An essential part of her activities has been organizing
retrospectives on Abbas Kiarostami in 2002 and Bahram Beyzaei, in l998, at which
both directors were present.
