He was born Tehran, in 1943. He continued
his higher studies to take a masters
degree in graphics from the University of
Fine Arts in Braunschwieg, Germany. He
also studied film design, production and
animation films direction at Hochschule
der Kunste (University of Fine Art) in
Berlin.
Navim worked as a director of German
documentaries and advertising films at
Deutsche Dokumentar und Werbe Film and
founded the Zentrum fur Film und Grafik
(Center for Film, Photography and
Graphics) at FU (Free University) in
Berlin. He is the key animator of the
feature film Agaton Sax, the first
full-animated feature film in Sweden at
Team-Film A.B. As an animation teacher he
has taught at the Postgraduate School of
Farabi University, IRIB TV College and
Tehran University in Iran while directing
and producing animated films in IRIB TV
Channel 1.
Founding Navim Film Studio in Tehran, Film
Folket association and Animation
Production Company in Sweden, directing
and producing films at Hunnar Film in
Bombay (India), New Vision and Medesign
Company (Sweden) and making more than 40
short films are the main parts of his
career as a filmmaker. Navim,s last film,
"Regal, the Golden Eagle" won awards at
Chicago and Mill Valley Film Festivals and
nominated for Guldbagge (Golden Ram)
2000), the most respected award in Sweden.
He is also a member of the Director
Boarding of Kaleidoscope in Sweden.

Hamid Navim's workshop is to have a group
of forty skilled Kanoon animators become
acquainted with new animation techniques.
This is a good opportunity for our
interested fellow countryman to gain
valuable knowledge from this well-known
master.

squash and stretch contact and ....)

3- Moving of different human characters

Founding Director of VanArts
Lee Mishkin has had the privilege of
working alongside and learning his craft
from some of the greatest artist of the
Golden Age of Animation. His career began
in 1949, working on Jay Ward's Crusader
Rabbit, the first animated series created
specifically for television.
Through the 50s and 60s Lee worked on
theatrical series such as Casper the
Friendly Ghost, Popeye, animated TV
special, and the combination
live-action/animation Don Knotts comedy
feature, The Incredible Mr. Limpett.
In 1670, Lee animated and directed Is it
Always Right To Be Right?, narrated by
Orson Welles, which won the Academy-Award
for Best Animated Short. While working in
England Lee received the British Grierson
Award for directing Butterfly Ball, the
first animated rock video.
Lee has also received two Emmy nominations
for co-writing and directing Faeries, a
CBS television special.
Most notable among the numerous animated
titles and inserts Lee Mishkin has
produced for television series and
specials over the years, are the animated
introduction to the favorite Adam West
Batman series.
VanArts
The Purpose of VanArts is to communicate
knowledge about the principles and
techniques of media arts to people with
artistic potential for his field.
Our programs are founded upon traditional
approaches to storytelling, character
performance and visual graphics and adapt
the artistic core of these traditions to
new and emerging technologies within the
entertainment industry.
VanArts is a small college packed with
huge talent. The classical animation
program has founded by internationally
renowned animator Lee Mishkin. VanArts
offers intensive 48-week diploma programs
in 2D Animation, 3D Animation, Game Art &
Design and a two-year diploma in
Commercial Animation.
Each year, VanArts invites special guest
instructors to teach workshop for our
full-time and summer students. These
industry professionals which have included
Academy-Award winning animators,
supervising animators/directors, have
worked on such projects as Monsters, Toy
Story, Finding Nemo, Cinderella, Alice &
Wonderland.
VanArts is fully accredited by the Private
Post-Secondary Education Commission of
British Columbia.
