TEHRAN, March 6 (MNA) -- The 6th Tehran International Animation Festival announced winners during a ceremony at the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA) Thursday evening.

According to the report of mehrnews The ceremony opened with the short report by head of the festival Hossein Vaziri about the films who said “Out of the 824 films submitted to the secretariat of the festival from 60 countries, 270 works were selected for the Iranian and international competition sections.

“The works were displayed in seven cinema halls and works from Italy, Hungary and Switzerland were reviewed during the festival,” he added.

The ceremony was followed by the screening of the animation “Maestro” by Hungarian director Geza M. Toth, and later the jury statement was recited by Vajihollah Fard-Moqaddam.

Afterwards, Paul Driesen of Canada was honored and was presented the jury special award in recognition of his 50 years of activities in animation.

Following is the list of winners in the national Competition section:

* Best Animation: “Young Man and Tricky Tailor” (Rashin Kheirieh)

* Best Children Animation: “Hajar's wedding” by Mahin Javaherian

* Best Student Animation: “Story of Earthenware” (Maryam Bayani)

* Best TV Film: “The Lie Which Does Not Enter the Gate” (Babak Nazari)

* Best Commercial Production: “Golrang Children’s Shampoo” (Mohammad Kheirandish)

* Best Screenplay: “Why Dogs Hate Cats” Lida Fazli

* Best Composition: “Solitude” Mehrdad Sheikhan

* Best Music: “Hajar's wedding” (Abbas Dabir-Danesh)

* Best Sound recording: “The One Who Is a Mother ” by Farhad Alizadeh

* Best Long Animation: “The Man with Snakes on His Shoulders” (Hossein Moradizadeh)

* Jury Special Award: “Labyrinth” (Amir Khoshnazar)

Following is the list of winners in the International Competition section:

* Best Feature Animation: " ONE NIGHT IN A CITY " by Jan Balej (Czech)

* Best Animation: “MUTO” by BLU (Italy)

* Jury Special Award: “Young Man and Tricky Tailor” by Rashin Kheirieh (Iran)

* Best Commercial Production: “Sony Bravia: Play – Doh” by Darren Walsh (UK)

* Best TV Film: “John and Karen” by Matthew Walker (Britain)

* Best Student Animation: “Our Wonderful Nature” by Tomer Eshed (Germany)

* Best Children Animation: “Little Bird ABC” by Diek Grobler (South Africa)

Sabrina Wanie (Germany), Regina Pessoa (Portugal), Daniel Suljic (Austria) and Paul Driesen (Canada) along with Akbar Alami from Iran judged the entries to the festival, which ran from March 1 to 5.
