Ahmad Arabani

Born in Tehran, 1947. Began his artistic activities as a caricaturist in humor magazines like “Tofiq” and later “Gol Aqa”. He joined Kanoon in 1973 and started to animate in a number of movies like “Rokh”, “The Violet Pencil”, “Jamshid, the Lord” and “Amir Hamzeh”.

Arabani’s list of directed animations begins with “The Axe” and continues with “The Treasure”, “Noqli and the Sunflowers”, “The Visionary”, “Reflection”, “Silence”, and two TV series: “The Simple Lines” and “Iranian Legends”. He has been a jury member in various caricature and animation festivals.

Arabani is a member of ASIFA Board of Managers.



Abolfazl Razani

 

Born : 1947,Boroujerd,Iran. Starting out in 1970 on the Iranian State T.V where he animated a puppet animation series called “Moon Forehead” in 6 episodes.

He has directed 20 independent films , two 4-episodic series contain documental purporsts, 5 short educational films for children and young adults since 1972.

On the base of Animation he has also directed a 12-episodic series and an univalent movie called “Work & Thought”, 150 short comic films “Simple Adventure”, a movie called “Work & Thought in the Journey to the Land of Forgotten Feelings”.

His works as a producer are as follows:

A puppet animation series titled “Memorable Dreams” in 13 episodes, 7didactic movies with Dynamation techniques, 4 other didactics under paper animation, various advertisements, optical effects (80 minutes) and titling of some T.V programs & movies.

National & International festivals:

Fajr Festival(1989), Indian Festival, Peri Danvi(Check Slovakia), Bilbao(Spain), Krakow(Poland), Jijon(Spain),Shanghai(China), all in 1987 , Esfahan Festival in 1995 & 2000, Cine Anima(Portugal)1987 & 2005.International Green Movie Festival in 2000, Hiroshima Festival in 1987,2002 and 2004, Animadrid 2004,the 4th Tehran Animation festival in 2005 and Roshd festival (2004) & he has won some awards.

He has been a member of a jury in many festivals

He has written and produced radio programs, researching in Boroujerd idioms, a book in folklore (Boroujerd’s Stories in 1972), photographing and many press activities are among his records.

He has also been an instructor in I.I.D.C.Y.K as well as teaching in T.V university (to B.A students) and master course in Cinema Theatre and & Tarbiat Modares Art universities (to M.A students).

He is also a member of International ACIFA & the manager and chairman of Tehran Film Studio (T.F.S).



Nazanin Sobhan Sarbandi

Born in 1949. Studied Plastic Arts in the University of Tehran. She has collaborated with Kanoon in the fields of drawing, animating, screenwriting and directing since 1971.

“The Rug”, “The Trace”, “Alliance”, and “The Address” are the titles of some of her animated movies. She has had experiences working for a couple of German studios and also teaching in the IRIB College.

 



Vajih Fard Moghaddam




Mohamad Ali Safoora

B.A in Cinema at Art University of Tehran and M.A in Animation at Tarbiat Modarres University. He is a PhD student of Art Research and lecture at Tarbiat Modarres University. Safoura was the selection committee and the Jury member of different editions of some festivals such as Varesh Festival and Iranian Cinema House Awards. His films participated in some national and international festivals like Hiroshima, Clermont, Milan, Seoul and Barcelona and won more than 20 awards. Awards of three editions of Iranian Student's Film Festival can be noticed among his prizes. He has guided and advised more than 40 MA graduation works at Tarbiat Modarres University.
