Mahyar is a Colorado native; he received his architecture degree from the University of Colorado, and from the University of Southern California, School of Cinema & TV. He recently did some brief animation for a feature films in Tokyo. He will be pursuing a career as a layout technical director at PIXAR Animation Studios in 2005.
